Sherlock OS Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Sherlock OS, an operations and reporting application operated by Sherlock SEO Agency (sherlockseo.com), accesses, uses and protects data — including data obtained from Google APIs. For any question about this policy, contact info@sherlockseo.com.

Data we access

With your explicit authorization through Google OAuth, Sherlock OS accesses the following Google data on a read-only basis, only for the accounts you choose to connect:

Google Ads (scope: AdWords) — campaign, ad group, keyword and account performance metrics.
Google Search Console — search performance, queries and indexing data.
Google Analytics — website traffic and engagement metrics.

For these Google services, Sherlock OS does not create, edit or delete campaigns or analytics configurations: the Google integrations are used for reporting and analysis on the scopes you grant. Where Sherlock OS makes changes to a client website, it does so through WordPress credentials the site owner provides — never through Google APIs — and only within the permissions granted.

How we use the data

Data retrieved through Google APIs is used solely to generate SEO and advertising performance reports, dashboards and insights for Sherlock SEO Agency and the clients whose accounts we manage with their permission. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Limited Use disclosure

Sherlock OS's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

We only use Google user data to provide and improve the reporting features described above.
We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide the service, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition.
We do not use Google user data for serving advertisements.
We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless we have your explicit consent for specific data, it is necessary for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or our use is limited to internal operations and the data has been aggregated and anonymized.

Storage, retention & security

OAuth tokens and retrieved reporting data are stored securely and accessed only by authorized Sherlock SEO Agency systems and personnel. We retain data only as long as needed to provide reporting, and you may revoke Sherlock OS's access at any time via your Google Account permissions page, which immediately stops further data access.

We do not sell or rent your data. We share data only with the client to whom it belongs and with service providers strictly necessary to operate Sherlock OS, under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
